Crawfish has been running since 2000, moving to its current Akasaka basement location in 2009. It's a small, friendly room that regularly hosts rock, indie and folk acts, with a crowd that mixes Japanese regulars and foreign residents more than most live houses in the area.

The space includes a proper upright piano alongside its regular backline, and it takes bookings for private live parties and weekday band rehearsals when it's not hosting a show.

Crawfish keeps a Bechstein upright piano on-site, unusual for a live house, and has operated under its current management since 2013 after moving to this location in 2009.

What Visitors Are Saying

Reviews describe a small, casual live-music bar rather than a marquee venue — the recurring themes are friendly staff, a compact food menu that's better than expected, and solid live music at an accessible price (several reviewers cite ¥1,000–2,000 for a night out). One reviewer specifically enjoyed a jazz-leaning set, suggesting the booking varies night to night.

Nothing but positive marks across the reviews we found, though the review count (113) is modest compared to bigger rooms nearby, so treat this as a smaller, less-tested sample.
